'Sea of plastic' Poniente Almeriense / 2017
Visual Essay, exerpt from Publication.

The creation of “plastic sea” of greenhouses has become one of the most territorial transformations in recent decades on a global scale. In Almeria, this began with the governmental action of colonization, and the successful application of artificial ground in the 1970s. Almeria produces about 3.5 million tons of fruits and vegetables annually to fill European supermarkets in more than 31,000 hectares (78,000 acres) of greenhouses. The visual essay travels through the area, throughout the history of battle and growth of Poniente Almeriense.
